Army Day is celebrated on August 1 to memorate the Nanchang Uprising. This was the first Koumintang-Communist engagement in the Chinese civil war. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, August 1 was chosen to memorate the People’s Liberation Army. And use the “八一” as the main mark of People's Liberation Army flag and army emblem.
　　On this day, people will have activities to celebrate the birth of PLA, such as gratitude performance.
