In thisresearch, we conduct a survey against 558 college students to find out thestatus quo of college students’ creativity and the relationship betweenself-construal, critical thinking and creativity. We find that (1) seniors havehigher creativity than freshmen, sophomores and juniors; (2) both of the twodimensions of self-construal, independent self-construal and interdependentself-construal, have significant positive effects on college student’screativity; and critical thinking tendency is significantly correlated withcollege student’s creativity; (3) critical thinking tendency acts as amediator, to some extent, between interdependent self-construal and creativity,between independent self-construal and flexibility, and between interdependentself-construal and fluency & flexibility.
