经历：童年时家庭经济困难，仅上两年学，靠勤奋自学各种知识。因其父负债入狱，他12岁进工厂挣钱养家。曾尝试多种工作，最后于1833年开始了他的写作生涯。1837年他凭借Pickwick Papers这部喜剧成为英国当时最受欢迎的作家，成名后他关心社会疾苦，成为很有影响力的作家。

Today I’ll introduce to you Charles Dickens, the great nineteenth century English novelist.
    
    Born in a small town near Portsmouth in 1812, Charles Dickens was able to attend school for only two years thanks to the poor economic condition of his family. Worse still, he had to begin work in a factory to help support the family at a young age of 12 as his father was jailed for debt. Nevertheless, he taught himself various kinds of knowledge, which enabled him to attain some other jobs before he turned writer in 1833. His writing career was so successful that he became the most popular writer in Britain when his ic book Pickwick Papers came out in 1837. Charles Dickens later became concerned about the social welfare and died as an influential writer in 1870 at the age of 58.
