I thought we'd be late for the concert,but we ended up getting there ahead of time 如果这里的ended 用end 的话、 那前面的thought 是不是应该换成think呢?可是我又觉得thought 表示本以为、 那还用换成think吗?

这个说法本身就是伪命题,小同学你调到语法的坑里面了.
前半句表示过去的猜想,but一转折到了过去的事实.
也就是说如果ended变成end,这句话就从语义上就是错误的.
