yes, of course it is. The olympic games is only a platform for those who want to be experts in their athletic field or someone who want to a world champion. The governments support it to show that they're having an international friendship established upon the money we earn so hard to get. We don't have to spend so much money on something that has nothing to do with our lives, though some people think this as an entertainment, I stongly disagree.
