The door is open.（形容词）
opening 大多只能是名词,除非是进行式中做为open（动词）的现在分词.
He is opening the window.（他正在打开窗户）- 现在进行式
Is there any job opening at your pany?（你公司有没有什么职缺?）
Are you going to the grand opening party?（你将会去开幕典礼的派对吗?）
