is there还是are there 都是一般疑问句,问的是有没有,不是有几个
There are how many boxes on the table 这更错离谱了,这中式英语了都
 
1.楼主要提问的是几个盒子,问的是数量,可以这么问：
 
    How many boxes are there on the table? 
    回答很多个,如5个：There are 5 boxes on the table. 
   只有一个：There is only one.2.楼主问题后面又用“是用is there a box .还是are there any box"
 
如果是要用一般疑问句： 
Is there a box on the table?桌子上是不是有个盒子?（这边重点突出了数量1个）Are there any boxes on the table?桌子上是不是有些盒子?（不知道数量的情况下可以用这个）
楼主的“are there any box”是错误的,前面are是复数,后面box也必须保持一致用复数.
